![]() ![]() Still, I’ve listened to this a lot, kinda wrestled with it – there’s something there. I guess I’ll tune in again if there’s another album – but there’s not enough going on here despite any (vague) promise. Watery, washed out, dribbling out into a thin trace of sound. ![]() And at an hour in length, with no real mood changes, this just goes on too long. There are moments I like – a little hint of a genuine R’n’B voice (Waiting Game), some nice twists and turns that place her (and her music) somewhere between Lorde and Grimes and though, because I’m not being entirely positive, I’ll be told I’m not correct here and that I’m too old, anyway, to even want to like anything like that – I reckon this really does show promise (Brain). ![]() But there’s no vitality here, no energy – and so the languidness weighs it down, and it all floats into the same space. I like to think I’m hearing more in it than in so many of the other grey-spaces/water-colour mixtures as day-dreamed up by the bedsit pop crowd. and brand new but I just pulled the second one out of the case for the first time today and noticed a piece of the vinyl on the edge had peeled off, I just simply pulled it off before taking the pic (shouldve taken a pic before but I wanted to.
